Why my Linksys router keeps dropping wireless connection?

It can be annoying when your wireless connection keeps dropping while accessing the Linksys router setup wizard page. However, there can be several reasons behind internet connection that occasionally drop off. There are a few tricks that you can use to get your Wi-Fi connection back up and running. The most common reasons behind a weak or slow internet are physical obstructions, low-quality network, outdated firmware, loose connections, or more. First, check if the problem is with your computer or router. Try to access the Wi-Fi network on another wireless device. Adjust the MTU Size:

Your network might be dropping due to wireless interference. Make sure the router is not operated on the same frequency as other electronic devices. You should change the channel of the Linksys router to either 1 or 11.

Minimize Physical Obstructions:

Another reason can be physical obstacles such as walls, ceiling, etc. Try to find an ideal location to place your Linksys wireless router. It is advised to keep your wifi router away from metal objects. Also, move your wireless devices closer to the router.

Re-Configure the Linksys Wireless Settings

Make sure to change the wireless name and password of your Linksys wifi router. Always keep a strong and more complex password to prevent unauthorized access. Try to set up the security settings and choose a strong wireless encryption standard such as WPA/WPA2.

Update the Linksys router firmware

Reset the Linksys Router
